Crossland Farm is a short distance from many attractions such as the Grizedale Visitor Centre, Go-Ape, the pretty village of Hawkshead, the Haverthwaite Steam Railway and Windermere Cruises. The Lake District has so much to offer and all its splendor is within easy reach. The accommodation at Crosslands Farm is nestled in the unspoiled valley of Rusland between Coniston Water and Windermere, south of Hawkshead Village and 4 miles from the A590 and offers a peaceful and tranquil place to relax with a drink in the garden or curl up by the fire and recall the adventures of the day. Gardens There are many gardens within easy reach such as Holker Hall, Holehird, Graythwaite, Levens Hall with the famous topiary also Brantwood and Anne's favourite Muncaster Castle here you can also visit the famous Ravenglass Railway Authors Arthur Ransome famous for writing "Swallows and Amazons" lived in Rusland and is buried in Rusland Church Beatrix Potter who wrote the beautifully illustrated children’s books and owned many farms locally including her famous Hill Top home was born and raised nearby. Her original paintings can be found in a gallery in the Lakeland village of Hawkshead William Wordsworth the famous poet lived and wrote in Grasmere and went to school at Hawkshead Grammar School Eat & Drink
